We’ve written this section of the website for patients, their relatives and their carers. We’ve tried to cover all (or almost all) eventualities, because all patients are different. But there is an obvious danger in this. If you read it all, you will probably convince yourself that everything we describe will happen to you! But nothing could be further from the truth. We wish to assure you from the outset that no one individual will experience all or even most of the investigations and treatments we describe. You should limit your reading to what is relevant to you.
If you know that you are about to go into hospital for a CT scan, for example, then read first the information that your hospital has sent to you. Then supplement it, if you wish, with what we have to say on the subject.
All of the medical information on this websites has been written by experts in the field. We therefore believe that what we say is both accurate and up-to-date. But if, at any point, you come across with something that seems not to correspond to your experience, please let us know. It may be that there has been a simple misunderstanding, or possibly something has gone awry. Either way, you should feel free to contact us at any time. We’re here to help!
